formlessforce asked: I'm not Catholic, but if it's done honestly (and not out of a grudging sense of requirement) I actually think Lent is a really cool thing, for the same reason that I fast when I'm facing something really big and need to focus on prayer. I think there's something noble in sacrificing a part of your life to God, and Lent makes that more disciplined.
